Balancing her time between abstract oil painting and cello playing, Leslie Allen’s paintings reflect a keen understanding of the delicate balance between color and form. “White Flask Dance” is part of her Point~Counterpoint exhibition, with works created during the pandemic in 2020-2021. Allen describes this time as “the soulful days,” when her painting became directly influenced by her remote musical practice for the Marin Symphony Orchestra. Kennedy Contemporary will be celebrating the opening of Point~Counterpoint with an artist reception from 5-7pm on January 13, accompanied by Bay Area cellist, Michael Fecskes, who will be playing music that inspired the paintings. The exhibition will run until February 21, and be available for viewing Tuesday - Friday (10am - 5pm) and Saturday - Sunday (11am - 3pm).
